Dr. Peter A.M. Maassen

Peter Maassen is Professor of Higher Education at the University of Oslo, and the director of Hedda, a consortium of European research centers in the area of higher education studies.

Previously he was director of the Center for Higher Education Policy Studies (CHEPS), University of Twente, the Netherlands. Among his main current functions are academic coordinator of the Erasmus Mundus Master programme in Higher Education (HEEM); member of the Executive Board of the Centrum für Hochschulentwicklung (CHE), Gütersloh, Germany; and member of the Executive Board of the University College Oslo (Høyskole i Oslo). He is the editor of the series Higher Education Dynamics (Springer Publishers), and has written and (co-) edited more than 100 international publications. His latest work includes a book edited with J.P. Olsen entitled “University Dynamics and European Integration”.
